George’s specialty is portraits and his artistic intent is best described in his own words below:

“My artist intent is to use a mixed medium of well-established artistic tools in a unique way to express a sense of peace and well-being through portraits, while maintaining both traditional and technical excellence.  I get my inspiration through various cultural artistic identities such as Native American, Asian and African art forms meshed with modern society.  I would like to show society that an African-American artist can appreciate and produce works that encompass many different cultures from around the world.”

Damien James – Chicago

Damien James is an artist based in Chicago who derives most of his inspiration from his wife and two daughters.  He currently has public art on damiendisplay in downtown Chicago which will be available for viewing at you-are-beautiful.com  soon.  He is self-taught, has shown work in several local festivals, and enjoys long walks on the beach.  He also knows how to read books, cook pasta, and sing in the shower.

Artist statement -

Damien feels that the only true "artist statement" that can be made is the way in which one lives.  The artist’s life is his statement.  The statement is in the work.  This is where the life resides.  There is no collection of sentences or combination of words that can encompass a life, but the images and the wonder they inspire and the mystery they present can come close.
